A tiny spark ignites
A raging fire; the forest burns.
In cold space the Earth turns.
Smoke plumes dance in the moonlight.

Leave and bark blacken in the heat,
Hundred year oaks crackle and glow
Ash fills the sky, like dingy smokey snow
Life itself surrenders, sounding the retreat.

Tiny seed in the Earth is sewn.
Rain water and sunlight nourish.
Sprouts and saplings in the dirt flourish
A mountain locked forest is regrown
